|2015-10 Compucon Desktops & Windows 10|
Compucon CPD Programme
Compucn House Albany
5th October 2015 Monday
4:00 – 4:45pm Compucon desktop current & next system models (TN)
4:45 – 6:00pm Windows 10 for IT Practitioners (Regan Murphy)
6:00 – 7:30pm Wine and Cheese
We did a session shortly after Intel announced the imminent release of the 6th generation CPU a couple of months ago. We will revisit this issue in this seminar in the context of Compucon desktop system models covering Superhawk, Diamond Plus, Thunderbird and Jasper in terms of FFP and TCO criteria. We will point out that AMD has a lot of performance potentials and we can turn the potentials into real business and profits only if we care to pay attention and to do something for ourselves. This will lead naturally to the R&D roadmap that Compucon has worked on for nearly 2 years. As this session has limited time, we will not repeat what have been disclosed in the last seminar and will just pick one or two main issues for reminding the peer group.
Regan Murphy is a Senior Technical Evangelist with Microsoft New Zealand and has been working with Microsoft platforms and products for 20 years. Regan will talk about features in Windows 10 and editions that are of relevance to businesses and recommend an upgrade strategy for existing business desktops. He will raise interesting issues such as Service Pack 1, upgrade options and limitations, new features via Windows Update, if Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, and an Windows Insider program. Questions are welcome during and after the session. Click this for the presentation slides of 4.6MB file size.
