This model is based on the Intel P45 chipset offering high computational bandwidth with dual-channel DDR2-800 main memory and a 1333MHz system bus. This system supports LGA 775-pin processors (Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad/Extreme) and up to 8GB main memory, providing an upgrade path for high processing performance. The P45 motherboard has 2 x PCI Express x16 slot for the provision of high-end graphics (with Cross Fire Technology support), 3 x PCI Express x1 slots for other peripherals, and also 2 x PCI slots for supporting older, traditional expansion cards. Other improvements over the previous chipset generation include the Intel ICH10R chipset supporting Matrix HostRAID on 6 x SATA 3Gbps ports and external SATA for external SATA drives. For best performance, we recommend adding another DDR DIMM for Dual-Channel operation. Windows 95 is not supported on this platform.
