Compucon Directions 2017

Trump winning the presidency at a time when Moore is about to hit the wall is an ideal introduction to the context of this first session.  Does cloud computing replace ground computing completely?  Is there a role in the near future for the Compucon channel of peers who have lived on ground computing for the last 25 years?  We shall move to supporting producers and developers as an imminent direction.  It is easier said than done.  So, we have conceived the idea of an on-ramp system for discussion in the session.   We would provide an example of how ARM may dethrone Intel in the server space.   The good news is that some efforts spent for the international SKA project can be spin off to our channel and the government which funded our involvement in SKA has endorsed this direction. 

Windows Server 2016

Jimmy is the senior controller of the consumer channel group in Microsoft New Zealand.  He will explain the new features in WS2016 and its licensing model. 

Cloud Service Provision

Hamish is the leader of the ITCL team consisting of 5 technical site service consultants and engineers.  Their business model has gradually shifted to cloud service provision over the recent years and he will discuss his view of the ongoing changes on the landscape.
