Rainforests for Cloud Computing Print
March 2010
We briefly explained what Cloud Computing was before Christmas.  We also proposed a concept based on Rainforests and their roles of maintaining our eco-systems for managing our server and storage requirements in the office.  We have now posted a short article on our website on this concept for your further reading. Go to Main Menu, Services, Company Profile, and Press Releases.

Imagine a 2 x 2 matrix formed with Equipment, Human Resource, In House and Out Sourced as the variables.  One quadrant has both equipment and human in house.  The diagonal quadrant has both equipment and human outsourced.  The other 2 quadrants have one of equipment and human in house and the other outsourced. The first quadrant is the Rainforest.  The diagonal quadrant is Cloud Computing.  The advent of low cost PC equipment that started in the mid-eighties marked our starting position in the first quadrant (Rainforest).  Human resources are getting more expensive and most companies have them outsourced to contractors.  Eventually, we do not own any equipment and we just pay for the required information service as we go (Cloud Computing).  The article helps you master this big picture for planning uses.
