Special features of the camera are:

MPEG-4/MJPEG Dual Streaming: This camera supports either 30 frame per second in full D1 resolution, or 7 frames per second in SXGA megapixel (1280x1024) resolution.

Automatic Frame Rate Control: This camera supports automatic and manual streaming frame rate control, especially for multiple clients concurrent access the same video stream in different network bandwidth.

Digital Time Code Embedded: This function is to embed the recording time in the MPEG bit stream. Therefore, each image frame has its respective time when it was recorded. It is very useful when users want to find the video of an exact time or between a certain time intervals.

DDNS: This camera supports DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name Server).  Users can set this IP device at a virtual domain name (such as cam1.Taipei.xxx) as a dynamic IP. Everyone can use the virtual domain name to view the video anywhere that has the access to the internet.

Build-in Hardware Motion Detection: No more external motion sensors are required. The camera can be set up to 3 detection areas. By tuning the object size and sensitivity, it is very reliable to fit into your environment. Besides, hardware motion detection delivers better sensitivity and responds faster than software motion detection.

IPVS Overview & Blue Ocean Sail Print
February 2009

Our previous CPD seminars have explained POE technology, IPVS sub-systems, NVR software and how Compucon completed the first IPVS system installation for a 360 apartment units building in December.  The efforts are for finding a blue ocean and the path to it. We think we have found it and we intend to develop it this year.

For members who did not attend the previous seminars, this event can be a starting point.  This session will cover 2 aspects:  (a) An overview of an IPVS system and the key expertise required for a system integrator, (b) How Compucon plan to work with channel members as IPVS system integrators in parallel to IT business.

System Platforms- Core i7, DDR3, SSD, Diamond Print
February 2009

As the global economic activities have slowed down, inventory levels across the board have built up and the urge to release new products have reduced. Intel released the new generation desktop processors Core i7 in December and prices have been staying high to be justifiable by enthusiasts only.  For servers, Intel has deferred the release of Nehalem processors from February to April timeframe.  Nevertheless, Compucon will have both on the roadmap for immediate attention and will examine both guys at the seminar.

What is the state of DDR3 memory and is it better than DDR2?

Intel shocked the industry with its Solid State Disk (SSD).  What is the latest state of developments with SSD and should we start to deploy SSD now?

Diamond has evolved from 945GC to G31- what have we gained?

Do not forget AMD.  Industry analysts predicted AMD to gain 30% of channel desktop marke share in 2009.  How do they do it?

We will go through the slides for the answers.

Latest Firmware Update for Barracuda ES.2 SATA Version SN06

!!WARNING!!

The software and information could be data destructive and/or render
your hard drive inoperable if not followed carefully. It is always recommended to keep a backup of critical data.

This applies to the following models:

ST3250310NS (#5EJ6, 250GB)
ST3500320NS (#5EQ4, 500GB)
ST3750330NS (#5ET3, 750GB)
ST31000340NS (#5EV, 1GB)

Please verify your drive model number and firmware revision before attempting Firmware Upgrade.

If your drive has one of the following firmware revisions: SN04, SN05, or AN05, use these attached ISO files to upgrade your drive. Note: If your drive has SN03, you must contact Seagate directly for an update to SN04 first before attempting to flash SN06.

Use ES2SN06C-1D2DMoose.iso for ST3250310NS and ST3500320NS drives.

Use ES2SN06B-3D4DMoose.iso for ST3750330NS and ST31000340NS drives.

Use CD burning software to create a CD from this file. The CD will be self bootable and give you prompts for firmware update procedures.

After booting, press F10 key to exit from licence agreement and select A or B for your model number of choice in the menu.

You can download to multiple drives at once connected to your SATA M'Board, but ensure they are all of the same model number. Eg, upgrade 4x ST31000340NS in one bootup upgrade.
