The Compucon Platinum 3U Storage Server supports 16 x 3.5" SATA or SAS drives in a standard 3U rackmount unit with hot-swappability. It can take any combination of high-performance Enterprise SAS disks or high-capacity Enterprise SATA disks for computational/database work or large file storage. It takes up to two physical processors (multi-core) and up to 32GB of RAM. Disks can be configured into multiple logical arrays with RAID 1 mirroring, RAID 5 striped set with distributed parity or RAID 6 with dual distributed parity for the protection against two simultaneous drive failures. If a drive fails, simply pop the disk out and re-insert another while the system is live. Power is provided with a redundant power supply of 800W (1+1 arrangement), allowing for hot-swappability as well, in case of a failure. The system supports all major OSes and can be managed remotely with IPMI and KVM-over-IP features as an option. This 3U Storage Server is expandable to support 48TB or more with the Compucon External Storage Chassis. |
