This server is designed for enterprise level use requiring high computational performance. It is based on the latest (as at September 2006) Intel server technology. The most significant features are Woodcrest Dual Xeon processors and Bensley chipset supporting Dual Independent Buses and Fully Buffered DIMM memory. This model is the first one from the Core 2 Architecture family which current claims high performance and low wattage leadership. The base configuration includes two Woodcrest Xeon 5110 processors and two pieces of FBD 1GB memory that can expand up to 16GB maximum. There are plenty of PCI-X slots for expansion. Add SCSI or SATA hard disks, hardware RAID controller, hot swappable caddies, operating system and backup tape drive to complete the full system configuration. The tower case has a rack-mounted option, and can accommodate 10 hot swap SCSI or SATA hard disks. Standard delivery lead time is 72 hours.
