As technologies evolve and the pace speeds up, the baseline for predicting the future moves fast. It is virtually not practical any more to predict the future further than a few months for business planning. This may not be the case if we are big infrastructure builders but obviously most of us here are not. What we can do is to watch widely and respond agilely. In fact, we have to be multi-disciplinary just like university students going for conjoint degrees nowadays. Chris will talk about big trends that are set in shape by big players, and advise us how we can find niches for our involvements in this seminar. Change is the only constant in nature and iterations are indeed a valid approach. There is a pattern we can recognize and capitalize if we are smart enough. Chris has almost 30 years’ experience in the Technology and Broadcasting space. His technology experience ranges from software development in open systems and Microsoft technologies, through infrastructures large and small to network architectures and security. Since 2000 he has managed dotcom teams and broadcast innovations through to CTO of an international software development company. His recent engagements range from online strategies, to mentoring and security engagements for financial services companies and Government departments. Chris brings a strategic vision coupled with a practical approach. Chris is great at mentoring technical, management and architectural staff in cross communication problems that often confuse situations. Chris was previously a senior executive of TVNZ.Presentation: The Future is now.pdf (1.45MB) |
