sandy_bridge_brand.jpg"Sandy Bridge" (32 nm)
  • Pin 1155
  • Chipset is P67
  • New set of instructions - 256bitnAVX (SSE)
  • VGA & CPU share L3 cache & memory
  • Turbo boost applies to VGA & CPU
  • Integrated VGA much more powerful than previous Intel VGA
  • Dedicated transcoding silicon
  • Up to 17% faster clock-for-clock.
  • Integrated graphics is twice the performance (HD 3000)
Based on Sandy Bridge microarchitecture.
All models support: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST), Intel 64, XD bit (an NX bit implementation), TXT, Intel VT-x, Intel VT-d, Hyper-threading, Turbo Boost, AES-NI, Smart Cache.
Core i7-2600K does not support Intel TXT and Intel VT-d.
S processors feature lower-than-normal TDP (65 W on 4-core models).
T processors feature an even lower TDP (45 W on 4-core models or 35 W on 2-core models).
K processors have unlocked turbo multiplier and are designed for overclocking. Other processors will have limited turbo overclocking on a P67 chipset.
Transistors: 995 million
Die size: 216 mm
