CNZ School of IT Professional Development Print
July 2005
Compucon promotes fitness for purpose and total cost of ownership of information technology for businesses. Fundamental to the two goals are technical knowledge, work methodology and ethics of practice. These elements are rarely given due consideration in the industry and as a consequence many IT implementations were not done properly resulting in loss of revenue and opportunities at the outset for businesses. To address the deficiencies observed, CNZ started offering training courses to IT industry channel partners. To be exact, CNZ has taken over a Compucon Authorised Professional (CAP) course as the basis that has been run since 1995 and has helped hundreds of IT practitioners understand hardware system design concepts. Other new courses have since been designed and added to the training portfolio as shown on this datasheet.

Business Technology Forums, 19 May 2005 Print
April 2005
Since 1995, Compucon New Zealand has been holding technology seminars to update customers and business partners of developments in the IT industry. The seminars have later been extended in scope to include information system selection, deployment and maintenance issues and to include the less IT-literate audience such as business managers and ICT coordinators. Compucon is pleased to announce that the next event has been scheduled for 19 May 2005 at North Harbour Stadium.

Year 2005 Better for Small & Medium Businesses Print
February 2005
In the context of using data and information technologies for business operation and productivity, businesses will find more joy this year than last. Year 2004 was a bad year as it contained many failure stories in the IT industry causing consequential losses or inconveniences to customers. The first few months in the new year will see a continuation of failures and company mergers, making the choice of consultants a bit delicate. Our advice is to base your choice on their track records and display of business ethics. The good news is that a few more practitioners without good ethics will go under soon, and businesses will be exposed to less risk. Nevertheless, nature dictates that light does not exist without darkness and vice versa- we still have to be in the know.

Network Attached Storage for the Serious Business Print
December 2004
Subsequent to introducing a brand new design of single disk NAS device in August 2004, Compucon now announces another new design of 4 disk NAS device for small and medium size businesses. This new NAS is capable of providing redundancy against hard disk failure via RAID-1 or 5, and supporting a hot spare disk that will automatically replace a failed disk. File transfer performance is faster than a server for a client on the local area network and even faster than the single disk NAS. Storage assignment can be done via a web interface, and the procedures are very intuitive. See more... (link to be fixed)
