Microsoft Windows 11 is the first Windows version to require a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) installed on your system hardware. Some systems will have support for this via a BIOS configuration change while other systems may require the installation of a hardware TPM module installed onto your motherboard header.

FAQ
Is TPM 2.0 required for Windows 11?
-
Yes, and we may be able to add TPM 2.0 support to your system via a Firmware TPM setting or a Physical TPM module depending on the model of your system. If your system supports firmware TPM, this can simply be enabled in BIOS - look to enable fTPM for AMD or PTT for INTEL to enable support for Windows 11.
What is the availability of Physical TPM modules?
-
If required, physical TPM modules can be back-ordered for supported systems.
- There are 3 types of physical TPM modules. To identify which type is needed, check the TPM Header pins on the motherboard.
Where do we enable firmware TPM support?
-
For Intel systems, look for Intel iPTT in the BIOS. Generally this is under Advanced \ PCH-FW configuration. There is a PTT (Intel Platform Trust Technology) setting that is disabled by default. Enable it and press F10, save, exit, done.
- For AMD systems, look for AMD fTPM in the BIOS. Generally this is under the Advanced menu. Look for AMD fTPM configuration
- Generally Intel 100 series platforms and newer should have spport. There is no support for Intel X299 and C422 platforms unfortunately. AMD platforms A320 and newer, including ThreadRipper are supported.
